About Us

The Auctioneer:

Mr. Calhoun graduated from Reisch Auction School in Iowa.  He is a licensed IL auctioneer who conducts estate, household, real estate, farm, and commercial auctions in a professional manner.  He performs the auction on location or, for a fee, will move it to an indoor facility.  Jim has been in the auction business for over 35 years.  When experience counts, Mr. Calhoun’s the one to call.

 The Clerk:

Mrs. Calhoun handles all the clerking at Jim’s auctions.  Diane’s work doesn’t stop there though.  She often meets with the sellers beforehand to help make up the list of auction items and set up the auctions.  Diane also serves as Jim’s secretary typing the salebills and helping with all aspects of the business.  During the week Diane spends her time playing with her grandkids and helping Jim.

The Cashier:

Jamie has been going to auctions for as long as she can remember.  She ran sheets and held up before learning the cashiering part of the business 20 years ago.  When she’s not taking your money, she loves being a mom and teaching kindergarten.

 The Ringman:

Brad Willson is an asset to Calhoun Auction.  He not only is a ringman, but has clerked for us in the past also.  When he’s not working auctions, he can be found farming, hanging out with his boys, and playing sports (where he is a real “knockout.”)

Our Sheet Runners:

Barrett Calhoun Knott has been with Calhoun Auction for over 7 years now.  When not attending auctions, he enjoys being superheroes and going to school.

Nathan Scott Woodley attended auctions for 9 months before joining the staff in June 2007.  He is Pa’s #1 helper and fan. He will help Pa with any part of an auction Pa will let him do, especially if it involves an outing in Pa’s truck. When not at auctions, Nathan enjoys playing all sports with Daddy, going to the park with Grandmom, swimming with Pa, and being a wonderful big brother.

Brady Calhoun Knott has been on staff for 3 years now.  He will climb right on that hayrack and get to work when given the chance. (then again, he’ll climb on anything if left alone momentarily) When he’s not at sales, he enjoys anything wild and crazy; that’s why he likes Grandma so much.

Krista Renae Woodley is our newest staff member.  Like her brother, she attended auctions for 9 months before joining the staff in April 2010.  Krista enjoys the days she gets to snuggle with Pa & Grandmom.  With having to keep up with only boys in the family Krista will be well-prepared for working auctions when the day comes.
